William Augustine • Project Coordinator

With over 25 years of experience at the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center, Mr. Augustine is a key player in the coordination and outreach of the four certification program areas that are offered and administered on a state-wide level to help improve the enhancement and growth of communities in Louisiana. His aptitude, courtesy, and exceptional professionalism has garnered William an excellent reputation “in the field”, with constituents, faith-based institutions, non profit entities, and community leaders throughout the parishes that are served.

William is the operator and facilitator of the Mobile Education and Technology Center, a high-tech, state of the art, educational training unit outfitted with a multi-media center, computer lab, wireless internet, conference room, full-service kitchen and research lab where he oversees and supports the administration of technology based instruction to low to moderate income audiences, small business owners, and families in marginalized areas of the state.

William is a fun, loving guy who loves to work with people. He also enjoys gardening and working with community-focused organizations around the state. He likes to read and continues to engage in learning new, advanced, and latest trend technologies. He thinks sharing educational information with the citizens of Louisiana, at the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center is the highlight of his career, especially to see and be a part of the increased learning, skill, and other beneficial impacts of the services that the communities receive through the programs. William’s hobbies are reading, auto mechanics, working out, and biking. He also enjoys undertaking home improvement projects in his spare time.

Originally, from Louisiana, William received his B.S. Agricultural Education, M. ED, Secondary Education, Southern University and A&M College, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
